The Phelps Fire Department is a 100% volunteer fire department located in the Town of Phelps, Ontario County, New York State. We provide fire, rescue, and other emergency services to the residents and visitors of the Town of Phelps, which includes a portion of the New York State Thruway. The Oaks Corners Fire Department is a 100% volunteer agency that provides fire protection as well as rescue and EMS services to the Eastern half of the Town of Phelps. We operate out of a single station and protect a population of about 3,000 residents over an area of 35 square miles. We also protect a 2.5 mile portion of the NYS Thruway and over 10 miles of railways. We protect a primarily rural, residential area with some commercial and industrial occupancies as well. We have 70 members including 30 Fire and EMS responders that respond to about 250 calls annually.
The Oaks Corners Fire Department provides emergency medical services in the form of BLS first response. We currently have 10 members who hold an S certification of Certified First Responder or higher. Our first responders respond to all medical calls in our fire protection district and provide patient care until a transporting ambulance arrives. The primary transporting ambulance service for our area is Phelps Ambulance Inc. Around 1999 our agency enacted a public access defibrillation program which has resulted in 100% of our members being trained in the use of our automated electronic defibrillators and maintaining current CPR certification.

The Clifton Springs Fire District encompasses all of the Village of Clifton Springs along with portions of the Town of Phelps, Manchester and Hopewell. The Officers and Members of the Clifton Springs Fire Department are fully committed to providing Fire/Rescue and EMS protection to the residences within our district.
