This program offers grants from $30,000 to $750,000 for private landowners with 5+ acres of unforested land to aid in site preparation, tree planting, removal of competing vegetation, and deer protection measures. ELF is part of the broader climate resilience initiative under Governor Hochul's "25 million Trees" project and aims to enhance biodiversity, air and water quality, and carbon storage.
